To celebrate the 100th birthday of Joseph Alois Schumpeter's book "The Theory of Economic Development" a conference in Vienna (Austria) is organized. This conference is aiming to address all scholars interested in Schumpeter's work or the topics they cover. The conference will take place from Thursday, 27-10-2011, till Sunday, 30-10-2011 The conference "Schumpeter´s Heritage - The Evolution of the Theory of Evolution" is organized by the Research Group Economics of the Vienna University of Technology and the Austrian Institute of Technology. |
| The conference will cover Schumpeterian themes highlighting the following aspects: (1) The evolving History of Economic Thought (2) The Place of Innovation in Production (3) The Political Economy of Finance (4) From Observation to Formalism - and back (5) Death or Redesign of Capitalism (6) To Fresh Pastures: Global Governance, Environment, Democracy Design The conference venue will be the Techgate in Vienna, an extraordinary site close to the river Danube. |
